Getting into shape doesn’t require hours at the gym! You can incorporate simple exercises into your daily routine without equipment, a designated workout space, or loads of time. With consistency, your body will notice the difference.

When you’re at a stop light, squeeze and release your abdominal muscles to strengthen your core. This requires minimal effort, and zero gym space. Core strength can reduce lower back pain and help improve your golf swing.

A simple strengthening exercise you can do at the gym or at home, with a dumbbell and a bench or chair. A strong upper back is especially important to proactively prevent injury and strain, not only for golfers, but for anyone who tends to be hunched over a desk or kitchen counter, or lifting heavy items (including children). If you’re already experiencing back pain and tension, now is the time to start strengthening! Try this short exercise every day for a week and notice how you feel. Keep a dumbbell in your kitchen or office to eliminate excuses!
